With smartphone sales declining, manufacturers are doing whatever they can to make consumers buy their products and stay with their brand. Apple recently launched its first app for Android in an attempt to make users switch to iPhones and their whole ecosystem. Needless to say, most Android users rated it with 1 star as a protest for this attempt and not so much for the functionality of the app itself. Samsung is doing basically the same with some promotions that are meant to entice iPhone users to switch for one of their flagship devices, one included to try the phones for one month and a few extra goodies. The promotion was very successful and they ran out of promotional kits within hours, so there’s definitely an interest towards Samsung flagships. Now, Samsung is releasing a promotion in another attempt to make users switch to one of their best smartphones. This time around it’s not only targeted to iPhone users, but they actually get a little bonus. For those who decide to buy a Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+ or Galaxy Note 5 through an installment plan or a lease, they would get a rebate for their monthly device payments up to $120, which should be good to cover the cost until 2016. For iPhone users, they would get $100 in Google Play Credit, so that they could purchase the apps they had installed or even new ones, in addition to movies, music or games.
The promotion is valid for US residents who are 18 or older. All major US carriers are supported except for AT&T.
